FAQ

Q: Can we reserve the boats?

A: You are completely welcome to reserve a boat, and we encourage you do so if you want to guarantee we'll have a boat for you on that day. To officially reserve a boat, call us or drop by the store. Give us some basic information and pay the deposit on the boat and the boat will be reserved for you.

Q: Do we have to reserve them?

A: You do not have to reserve a boat. Any boat that isn't currently reserved is on a first come first serve basis.

Q: How long is a full day rental?

A: A full day rental is from when we open to when we close. Our current regular season hours are 9am to 5pm Monday thru Friday, and 8am to 6pm weekends and holidays.

Q: How long is an overnight rental?

A: An overnight rental starts when we close, and then you return the boat in the morning when we open.

Q: When does the 24 hour rental start?

A: 24 hour rentals are either from when we open to when we open the next day, or from when we close, to when we close the next day.

Q: Do we drive the boats or do you drive them?

A: You drive the boat. Our patio boats are very easy to drive. Plus we teach you what you need to know before you leave the dock.

Q: Do we need a boating license to drive the boats?

A: No. We just require that you be 18 years of age and have a valid driver's license to rent from us.

Q: Do we have to pay for gas when we rent a boat?

A: You get a free full tank of gas when you rent the boat. One tank is usually plenty for most renters. If you need more however, you can stop by the marina and get another tank for $20.

Q: What about life jackets? Do we need to bring our own?

A: While you are more than welcome to bring your own, we supply the life jackets. Each boat comes with the number of life jackets you will need. Plus, we have smaller life jackets for infants or small children. (Please note that all children age 13 and younger need to be in a life jacket while the boat is in motion).

Q: What can we bring on the boats?

A: You can bring a wide variety of items. You are allowed to bring your own food and drinks. Alcohol is allowed on the boat, but we do not allow kegs nor do we allow the boat driver to be intoxicated. Some people will bring foldable chairs, or stereos, or other things for fun or relaxation. We also allow propane BBQs on our boats, but they have to be propane only. We also ask that you bring a drip pan for your propane BBQ.

Q: Can we fish off of the boats?

A: You can fish off of any rental boats or kayaks you rent from us. You can NOT fish off of the docks. You do need a fishing license to do any fishing here at Success Lake however.

Q: Do you sell fishing licenses?

A: We do not sell fishing licenses.
